I am pretty sure I have already mentioned this, but I am going to do it again in case I am remembering wrong! Brandon is currently training at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, Texas. He is training at the military fire academy (they call themselves Fire Dogs). Originally we thought he would go straight from basic to fire training, and that I would have to live in Topeka during this time and just try to come visit a couple times. However after basic training graduation neither of us could stand the thought of being separated for another 4 months. So after many talks, and me giving he about a million reasons why I should move (including possible jobs, apartments, etc...I did my homework!) we decided that come first of November I would pack up my car and move down to Texas. Unfortunately the fire academy does not allow students to live with spouses during training. I was bummed about that fact, but felt that getting to see him every night and on weekends was enough to make the trip worth it. I was ready to be near him again, I started getting a little nervous right before the move for several reasons 1) I knew no one in San Angelo, 2) I was moving into an apartment I had never actually seen, 3) I would be living all alone , and 4) I would miss my family. However none of that was enough to make me change my mind. So my dad and I (he was not comfortable with his little girl going all alone) drove down to Texas. The trip went really well and I was anxious to see the place. Brandon had had the opportunity to take a look at it the weekend before I came down, and his opinion of the place made me very nervous. So of course I had in my mind this nasty dingy apartment...but I was pleasantly surprised. We rented a 1 bedroom apartment. At the end of this post I will put some pictures up of the place! Now on to the best part. I arrived on a Monday and on Tuesday when I picked Brandon up from class he told me some amazing news...he had got permission to live off base with me!!!!!!!! I had never imagined that would happen (cause they said it wasn't allowed). Brandon had really proved himself already at the academy, and also was able to show that he was responsible enough to live off base, so they offered it to him and he took it! Now it was not an easy thing to set up. He had to jump through a bunch of hoops and get papers signed by several high up people, not to mention had to sit down and talk with not only his commanding officer but one of the head honchos as well. At first they really questioned him about if he was really up to the challenge of living off base, but like I said earlier he was able to prove how dependable he is and that I would not hinder him in any way. So long story to say that we are happily living under the same roof again!!!!
San Angelo is not a real happening town, but I feel very comfortable here, and already know my way around pretty well (which is really saying something because I am extremely directionally challenged!) Well as promised here are some pictures of our place! (well for the next 2 months at least)

Here is the view of the place as soon as you walk in the door.

The living room area, it has vaulted ceilings and a mammoth sized closet! Oh and do you notice the window that is way up high, so high no one but a giant could reach it to open it! It is nice in theory but not too practical :)

Dining room area, and we actually eat at the table each night! Not typical for us!

Balcony (not an amazing view but still nice to have)

Kitchen

Bedroom...and yes that little 100 year old T.V. had to go, and I brought my own bedding...and I lysoled the crap out of that mattress!

Bathroom, not too exciting, but I was excited to see a jetted tub!!!

Well stay tuned for more information to come on our new and exciting journey as an air force family! I miss my family but if I have to be away I am glad Brandon is by my side!!
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! So happy for you, Laura and Brandon!
