The trip across the Pond

Welp folks after months of planning and preparing we are finally in England. I don’t have any pictures to post yet, because we have been so busy and don’t have a car to get around in to see the local sites. Oh well no worries soon enough I will be flooding my blog with pictures of our adventure! My flight to London was my first time on an international flight. I was a bit nervous about it, mostly I was worried that I would get bored on such a long flight, so of course I packed more stuff than anyone could need to entertain myself. My other fear was about using an airplane toilet, now that fear turned out to be valid those things are nasty! Now the entertainment is a different story. I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of movies and shows, and even some games, I didn’t even need to use any of my own entertainment! Overall I would say the flight was good minus the JERK that sat in the seat one away from me. We were on a plane with a 2-5-2 seat layout. We were in the 5 seat section, but were on the end, and got lucky because no one was in the middle seat. However we got very unlucky with the couple sharing our row. The woman never spoke, her husband wouldn’t let her! I had a bad feeling about the right off because as soon as they sat down, the man stood up and shut off all the overhead fans, and I do mean all, his, his wifes, the extra seats, and ours! Well I guess that wasn’t enough so he called a flight attendant over and told them it was too cold on the plane…like they would change the temp to suit him. Obviously the planes temp didn’t change so him and his wife wrapped up in the blankets provided. They each used their own, then they took the extra blanket, Brandon and I also had set ours in the extra seat, and they took one of ours! WOW is all I can say. OK so if that wasn’t enough to annoy me, pretty soon he decides the extra seats monitor is bothering him and he shuts it off, but whatever I wasn’t using it! After about 5 hours on the plane I was FINALLY able to fall asleep. However at one point I thought I felt someone wiggling their finger under my arm (I was leaning on the extra arm rest (there was still the open seat and on open arm rest on his side) I decided to ignore him touching me and TRY to sleep. Well Mr. Pissypants wasn’t having any of that and a few minutes later he started poking me and saying “hey wake up”, I looked up at him, probably not looking too friendly, and saw he had called the flight attendant over AGAIN because he thought I was leaning on the light switch for the extra seat and he wanted it darker so he could sleep…well the problem with that was that not only did he wake me up, which by the way royally pissed me off, it wasn’t my light. I was extra dramatic in my pressing of the button on my seat and the extra one to prove that it was NOT mine. Oh man I was fuming and definitely didn’t get back to sleep which ticked me off all the more. Here is my thoughts for my row mate. First you are in coach not first class so get off your high horses and realize everything won’t be perfect, and if you want it to be get a private plane. Second who the he double hockey sticks do you think you are touching me and bothering me, I can do whatever I want I paid for my lovely coach ticket and if I want my light, blanket or anything else pertaining to my seat you have no right butting in…Thank you very much!

OK so enough about my plane ride, after that we were in London waiting for our bus to take us to base, the waiting area also happened to be the only spot with bathrooms and had no heat…not the best concept folks! So I was cold and cranky by the time our bus arrived. Then we get on this nice warm bus, and sorry to say I crashed and didn’t see hardly any of the countryside…oh well the cat nap was good!
