Market Day!

Well I can honestly say, aside from making some great friends, my favorite thing about England is the open markets held throughout the week. Brandon has loved living here from the start, I on the other hand have had a love/hate relationship with the UK...ok maybe more hate than love. Brandon said it was his goal to get me to say "I love England" since he said it all the time when we first got here there was no worry about him saying it :) I think he was beginning to get discouraged about my feelings toward our new home. Now just FYI I didn't hate England so much as I wished it was more like the US. Ok back on track now, I had been wanting to go to the markets from day one, and about a month in to living here we finally made a trip back to Bury St. Edmund for the local market day. We had been shopping there before but it wasn't a market day so it was our first chance to see what it was like. Here are a few pics I took from our outing...yes I was that tourist that was taking random pics, to quote my niece Kieran when she see's a camera flash "Oh it's just Laura again!"

There were tons of produce stands all over the place, and several flower stands as well.

It kind of cracked us up that the street venders all work in suits and ties!

I loved walking around all the stands and picking out fresh breads, fruits, and vegetables. There were stands selling everything imaginable. From fresh fish (which reeked) to sausages, to a battery stand selling all sorts of batteries....so didn't expect to see one of those:)

Loaded down with fresh produce I talked Brandon into buying me some really cute sandals...even if it was freezing out that day! All in all it was a fun day and Brandon finally got what he wanted, me saying I loved England!!!! (of course he made me drive later that day and I was cursing and saying I hate England the whole way home... )
