Finally!

Well I now feel like I am officially a military spouse. I received the form on Saturday from Brandon that allowed me to get my military spouse ID card. Which I have learned is also your proof of insurance. So YAY I not only have insurance now, I also have my official military spouse ID card. I went to the Coast Guard Office in Topeka, and got it this morning:) I have to say I was pretty darn excited! Although there are still some issues to be dealt with, involving the military, at least the part that I was most anxious about it taken care of! Now I am promising myself that I will not stress out about the other issues, and just wait and let things happen as they may. Although I am hoping that the pay issue gets figured out soon, I really would love to get my housing allowance sometime soon!

I also felt that this weekend marked another event that initiated me into the military wives club, I had my first Birthday with Brandon gone. Now I wish I could say that this will be the only event he will be gone for, however I am a realist and know that over the course of our years in the military I know he will miss many major holidays, birthdays, etc. It was sad to not have him around, and I thought about him constantly, however I still had a blast. My day started off with a lot of packing. Man do I know how to live it up on my Birthday! Then I moved out of my apartment and into my parents house. I thought that I had been very stingy with myself and what I packed to take with me, but 2 jeep loads later I realized I have too much crap and some things just might have to go to storage for a few months! Then after getting moved I hit the pool for a couple hours, then got ready to head to Lawrence. My mom, sister in-law Jaime, Nikki (my sister) and I all met at my sisters house. Then we went to dinner at the Noodle Company on Mass. St. Which was so good, Nikki had been talking about it for weeks, and knowing I am a carboholic thought I would like it! She was right, although I had to laugh at her when we got there. She had printed out a menu for us to look at, and decide if we really wanted to go, she had herself nervous that she had talked the place up too much, and we would all be disappointed. Welp Good job Nikki, I loved it and would definitely go again!! We took pictures (mostly to send to Brandon) but I used my old small camera, and don't know how to get them from that camera onto my new laptop, so unfortunately no pictures will be posted from our evening out!

I also got a beautiful necklace from Brandon's family, and the cool thing about this piece of jewelry is that it is made by an organization that helps fight against Sex Trade, and empowers poor women who are at risk. I really don't think I explained that too well, so please check out the website!!!!! www.warinternational.org Find unique jewelry, and support an amazing cause!
